Power cut across Portsmouth

ALMOST 200 homes were affected by an overnight power cut.

A broken high voltage underground cable caused the problem which meant a loss of power to homes in Copnor and North End.

It happened at 1.30am on Thursday and took engineers from Southern Electric until 4am to fix the problem.

A spokeswoman for the company said in total 186 properties were affected by the power cut and apologised for the disruption.
