A ROADSHOW to help businesses thinking of applying for funding from the Regional Growth Fund was held at the University of Portsmouth.
The event, at the university’s business school, was attended by dozens of business representatives yesterday.
Round six of the government programme is now open with more than £200m available to businesses in England.
The roadshow was the final one of its kind, with no more rounds of the growth fund planned before the general election.
Anne-Marie Mountfield, chief executive of Solent Local Enterprise Partnership, explained to the audience how important the application process is.
‘It is a big opportunity to secure funding,’ she said.
Representatives from the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, which runs the growth fund, were at the event to give guidance and answer questions.
Projects looking for over £1m which will create or safeguard jobs and raise private finance of at least 1:1 are invited to bid.
The deadline for applications is September 30.
