Royal Mail Group jobs boost

ROYAL Mail Group has announced plans to expand its parcels business – creating up to 150 new jobs in Hampshire.

Parcelforce Worldwide hopes to create 1,000 new jobs in the UK as part of a four-year investment programme worth £75m to expand its businesses in the UK and overseas.

It will open a new depot in the county.

Fareham MP Mark Hoban, Minister for Employment, said: ‘It is great news that 1,000 new jobs will be created across the country as a result of this investment. We’ve now got a record number of people in employment and these jobs will provide welcome opportunities for people who are looking for work.’

Royal Mail Group chief executive Moya Greene said: ‘The investment will enable Royal Mail Group’s express parcels business to meet the rapid growth in demand in the business-to-business, business-to-consumer and consumer-to-consumer markets.’
