Self-employment grows

A BUSINESS support organisation in the south has welcomed figures showing a dramatic growth in the numbers of people opting for self-employment.

Peter Grant, chief executive of WSX Enterprise in Fareham, said the fact there are now more than 4.5m self-employed people nationally was evidence of a ‘strong entrepreneurial instinct’.

Stats show 337,000 more people decided to work for themselves between February and April this year compared to last year.
