SHE’S known for being a world champion swimmer.
Now elite athlete Katy Sexton has shown her support for Portsmouth’s pub industry after she officially opened a new venue in Guildhall Walk. The 30-year-old, who became the first British female swimmer to win gold at the 2003 World Championships in the 200m backstroke, cut a ribbon at the entrance of the new-look White Swan. As reported, Brewhouse and Kitchen has turned it into a pub with a microbrewery. One of the beers is named after Katy.
Katy, who lives in Cosham, said: ‘It’s a great honour when someone wants to name something after you. It’s not very often that new pubs open, especially one which has its own microbrewery.’
