FIREFIGHTERS in Southsea had a busy night shift after they were called out five times.

At 12.20am today, they received a call to say that two petrol pumps were on fire at Asda in Fratton, but this turned out to be a malicious call.

Then at 1.06am a recycling bin was on fire at KFC in Commercial Road.

At 2.33am a crew was called to Cross Street after smoke was spotted coming from one of the flats. It turned out to be a bit of burnt food, as someone had fallen asleep whilst cooking and there was no fire.

At 3.16am, firefighters were called to Balfour Road in Buckland as there was a fire in the open.

And at 4.17am, the station received a call to Craswell Street in Landport as there was a bin fire at The Mars pub.
