CIRCUS skills, a trapeze and family fun were top of the agenda at a city gallery.
More than 100 people turned out to take in free activities and the Camp Bestival Travelling Circus at Aspex Gallery in the Vulcan Building at Gunwharf Quays on Saturday.
Attractions included face painting by Cheeky Monkey, circus activities including juggling and the chance to have a go in a trapeze.
There was also a craft workshop at the gallery and DJ sets from young people including DJ Stanley.
Aspex staff also added some specials to their cafe menu for the event.
Matt Sanger from the Bestival and Camp Bestival team was on hand at the event.
He said: ‘Last year we thought “why not go out and do things in the local community and support things we like?” – it’s really important for us.
‘It’s great to see so many families coming down and engaging in things they wouldn’t normally do every day.
‘It’s great that the kids can come down and engage with that. It brings families together.
The travelling circus is one of a series being held across the country in venues including London and Bristol ahead of Camp Bestival, which is set to be held at Lulworth Castle in Dorset from July 31 to August 3.
Acts that area set to perform at the four-day festival which is specifically set up to welcome families include Basement Jaxx, Johnny Marr, De La Soul and Sophie Ellis Bextor.
