From gymnastics to BMX racing, a school has kicked off its summer fun.
Brune Park Community School will be running daily activities throughout the whole of the summer holidays, the first of which was held yesterday.
Children from the school, as well as possible future pupils, had fun taking part in cooking lessons, gymnastics, BMX racing and swimming.
They also got the chance to play a range of sports as well as arts and crafts.
Steven Paul, summer school co-ordinator, said: ‘The pupils are really, really keen to take part in our summer activities.
‘We have got about 130 kids signed up and we are expecting between 50 and 70 children a day.
‘The parents are very impressed that we can supply a fun day throughout the summer holidays.’
He added: ‘We will have around 14 activities taking place every day.
‘We have got judo, circus days full of circus skills, drum lessons, cooking, day trips to the Royal Marines Museum and the BMX tracks, computer game workshops and how to make music tracks.’
The summer activities, held at the school in Military Road, Gosport, are for pupils of the school in Years 7, 8 and 9.
But Year 6 pupils who are starting at the school in September can also attend as well as any Year 5 pupils in Gosport.
To sign up, call the school on 01329 616000 and ask for the community team. Upon arrival, a health and safety form needs to be filled out.
Each day of activities is £5.
