FIREFIGHTERS were called out after a car caught fire on its owner’s driveway.

The incident outside a home in Stubbington Avenue, North End, happened at 11.05am on Saturday.

The alarm was raised by a woman living inside who came out and spotted smoke coming from the engine of her Land Rover Freelander and spreading quickly.

Southsea fire crews wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel to tackle the blaze.
