POLICE have arrested a man after a car crashed into the front of a yachting club this afternoon.

Two vehicles, a Ford Focus and a Vauxhall Zafira, were involved in the collision in Pembroke Road, Old Portsmouth, which police were called to at about 3.40pm.

A vehicle drove into the back of another, causing it to go up on the pavement and crash into the Royal Naval Club and Royal Albert Yacht Club.

Superficial damage was caused to the front of the club, while one woman suffered minor injuries.

Two crews from Southsea Fire Station were sent out, but were not needed as nobody was trapped.

Hampshire Constabulary said that one person suffered a minor injury.
