FIREFIGHTERS were called out after a car engine blew out on the A27 in Portsmouth.

The driver of a Vauxhall Zafira called 999 after he encountered problems while travelling between Western Road and Portsbridge Roundabout, Hilsea, at about 10.10am yesterday.

When Cosham firefighters arrived they helped to put the car on the hard shoulder before advising the driver to arrange recovery.
