A CAR burst into flames during Saturday afternoon.

A crew from Southsea fire station was called to deal with the blazing vehicle in Southsea Terrace, Southsea, at 3.30pm.

Two firefighters in breathing apparatus and one hosereel were used to bring the fire under control, which took 10 minutes.

The fire began in the car’s engine compartment but its cause is unknown.
