A CAR that plunged from a cliff and left two people dead could have been travelling at more than 30mph.

A man in his 50s and a woman in her 40s, from the Isle of Wight, died when their blue Renault Scenic sped over Culver Down cliffs at 8pm on Wednesday.

The car’s speed meant it did not hit the cliff as it fell 328ft, Mike Forsyth-Caffrey, from the Isle of Wight Coastguard said.
