SCHOOLS across the area have been signing up to support this year’s Blue Day.

Pupils and staff at Somers Park Primary School, Purbrook Infant School, Moorings Way Infant School and both Northern Parade Infants and Juniors will all be dressing in blue on the day – Friday, April 20.

Staff at Holbrook Leisure Centre in Gosport will be supporting the event by dressing in blue and shaking buckets on the day.

And the 147 Snooker and Social Club in Gosport High Street has signed up.

They will be shaking buckets outside all next week and a karaoke evening is being organised to help boost the coffers.

Youngsters from the First Wymering Boys and Girls Brigade, based in Cosham will be holding a mass fundraising day on Wednesday, April 24.

They will be taking part in a fun day at Wymering Methodist Church.

There will be lots of activities including dressing up, various games and cakes sales.

Meanwhile, The Royal pub in Commercial Road, Portsmouth, will be dressed in blue and white and staff will be wearing blue and paying for the privilege.

Staff will also be encouraging customers and locals to the pub to make a donations and some activities will be organised too.
