HARD-working carers got the chance to take time out and be pampered for the day.

Indian head massages and foot rubs were offered to around 40 carers at Leigh Park Community Centre.

The event was organised by The Princess Royal Trust for Carers in Hampshire.

Dawn Campbell, who is a support worker for carers from the trust, said: ‘It was six hours of bliss for them!

‘They did not have to do anything apart from meet other carers and take their minds off their caring role.

‘A lot of carers do not get the chance to meet people and are at home 24/7, so it’s rare for them to be able to do something like this. They came in with their faces looking quite stressed, but they came out of the therapies rejuvenated.’
