YOUNG people and domestic abuse victims will benefit from a £195,990 grant.

Hampshire County Council has awarded grants to voluntary organisations in the Havant and Waterlooville area.

More than £67,000 has been awarded to Havant Women’s Aid, more than £7,000 to Wecock Community Association, more than £9,000 to Hayling Island Youth Club, and £8,000 to Havant Youth Sailing Training School.

The Leigh Park counselling service, Off The Record, has also been awarded almost £35,000.

Councillor Roy Perry, who is in charge of children’s services, said: ‘The purpose of these grants is to enable the voluntary sector to continue to develop services, support, learning and recreational opportunities across the county to meet the needs of vulnerable children.’
