HE’S usually found skimming the waves alongside some of the world’s best sailors.

But double Olympic champion Iain Percy, pictured, is now training for a different kind of challenge – the Great South Run.

The OBE recipient and Artemis Racing manager will run the Portsmouth course in memory of Andrew ‘Bart’ Simpson, who died in an America’s Cup training accident in May 2013.

Iain, 37, said: ‘We sailors aren’t known for our running ability and this will certainly be a challenge.

‘Bart would be very proud.

‘I’m thoroughly looking forward to joining members of the team, and supporters of the Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation, along with thousands of others for this iconic run in Portsmouth in a few weeks.’

The run, which draws thousands of people to Portsmouth each year, is on October 25.
