Come face-to-face with giant reptiles or hairy spiders at the opening of a new reptile and aquatics store in Titchfield.

Aquajardin is opening at Garsons Garden Centre and is holding a special open day on October 29 to celebrate.

Customers will be able to meet a huge tortoise, a giant snake and a friendly tarantula at the garden centre near Fareham between midday and 3pm.

Families can learn about these unusual creatures from wildlife photographer and venomous snake wrangler Tom Charlton of Eco Animal Encounters.

The new store will boast a wide range of tropical, coldwater and marine fish, as well as reptiles and amphibians.

People can also take advantage of opening day offers.

On the same day, a pumpkin princess will float around the garden centre telling mystical tales and offering tips on choosing the perfect Halloween pumpkin.

Little ones can also enter the free spooky colouring competition for a chance to win one of three prizes.
