FOUR-legged friends will be taking part in an annual charity dog walk.

Dogs will be joining their owners for the seventh annual Hayling Island Wag Walk to raise money for the Stubbington Ark Animal Shelter.

Dog owner Pete Garvey said: ‘I own two lovely Jack Russell’s, both rescued from the Ark. The Wag Walk is a fantastic idea, not only does it raise money for the shelter but it’s great exercise for the dogs and me too.’

Sandra Deaville, Hayling Island support group volunteer, said: ‘The route starts from the coastguard centre and takes in some really pretty views.

‘There is always a great atmosphere amongst the dog owners and their animals on the day. People of all ages take part.’

The person who raises the most cash will be awarded the Wag Walk Shield, a complimentary meal for two and dog treats.

The walk takes place on Sunday.
