AFTER months of struggle with funding, Portsmouth Harbour’s Queen’s Harbourmaster Patrol is back on the water.
When the engine on its main catamaran seized up, the group was unable to supply its regular service to stranded boats in the harbour.
Now, the patrol’s return has been made possible thanks to support from local companies, the Gosport Boatyard and Hendy Marine, which made donations.
Harbourmaster volunteer Steve Hooper said: ‘The success of the patrol is entirely dependent on such help from local companies who recognise the significant contribution to safety on the water.’
The charity is glad to be back on the water just in time for the America’s Cup racing next week.
