The Encephalitis Society is looking for volunteers to run on its behalf in this year’s Great South Run.
The charity is the only one of its kind in the UK which provides a dedicated service to people affected by encephalitis, a rare inflammation of the brain.
Fundraising co-ordinator at the Encephalitis Society, Cassie Meegan-Vickers said: ‘We need runners who want to tackle the Great South Run and also help us continue our mission.
‘Encephalitis is relatively unknown, so we need to fund research looking into this devastating condition and the support services we provide for our members.’
