A FUN day is to be held by First Group in memory of a well-loved colleague who died from cancer.

Workers at the bus firm have come together to host the event in Portchester Community School, White Hart Lane, Fareham, to raise money for cancer research.

There will be a range of activities on offer, including stalls, games, tug of war, bouncy castle, stocks, apple bobbing and many more activities.

The event was organised in honour of the company’s Leu May, former union and trades representative and chairperson of the social club, who died 18 months ago, aged of 60, from stomach cancer.

Christine Hutton, now chairperson of the business’ social club, said: ‘Leu was a very good friend to everyone on the buses, so we wanted to get together and do something to celebrate his memory and raise money in his honour.’

The event is open to everyone and takes place from 12pm to 4pm on Sunday. Entry is free and all profits go to cancer research.
