Children from military families '˜less likely' to go to university study finds

CHILDREN from military families are less likely to go to university than those with civilian parents, a study has found.

Research by the University of Winchester, funded by the Ministry of Defence, found almost four in 10 children from military families, who have the ability to go to higher education, were unlikely to do so – less than their non-service peers.

The study has prompted calls for universities in Hampshire to forge stronger links with the county’s military families.
