FOUR children were taken to hospital after a two-vehicle crash in Havant.

The collision happened in Bartons Road, Havant, at about 8.05am yesterday.

An Audi A4 was collided with a Mercedes Panel van near the junction with New Lane.

Police cars and three ambulances went to the crash scene, which was shut off as emergency services dealt with the casualties.

Four children who were passengers in the vehicles were taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital with minor injuries.

A fire engine from Havant fire station was called out at about 8.15pm.

Firefighters helped to make the scene safe and clear debris from the highway.

The road was closed for more than an hour until it reopened at 9.20am.

Traffic was diverted along Prospect Lane during the closure.
