FIRE crews were called to a chip pan fire at a high rise block of flats in Southsea.
The alarm was raised at 4.33pm this afternoon to reports of a fire at Omega House in Omega Street.
Crews from Southsea, Fareham, Portchester and Hayling Island were sent to the scene.
A spokesman for the fire service said a high rise fire procedure was put in place as a precaution.
The male occupant of the property was treated by ambulance crews at the scene but did not require hospital treatment.
Fire fighters used a blowing fan to put the fire out.
The scene was clear by 5.15pm.
