THE Milton Glee Club Choir raised £1,000 for the Rowans Hospice by holding a concert.
Members from the choir presented a cheque to hospice representatives following the May concert.
The choir performed with the band of the Hampshire Constabulary during the event.
The cheque was presented by choir member Ruth Murray, who is also one of the group’s trustees.
She is a weekly volunteer with the Purbrook-based hospice.
She said: ‘It was a very meaningful moment and I was pleased that my singing could also help the Rowans.’
The Milton Glee Club Choir is a registered charity and often donates surplus cash raised at concerts to local charities.
It has raised more than £125,000 for local charities over more than 64 years.
Its next concert with the Band of the Hampshire Constabulary is on Sunday, October 7, at Portsmouth Guildhall.
Funds raised will be donated to the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.
The event starts at 3pm and tickets will be available on the door.
