‘Unfortunately just a few hours after the birth Layla became unwell. It was thanks to the great staff in Nicu that Layla is now a strong and happy baby.

‘I know myself and other friends and family of Ali and Layla wanted to thank QA Hospital for their hard work and help more parents bring their little ones home safe.’

Franchesca, who has planned similar events in the past including wedding fairs, said she was really happy with how it went.

‘I was overwhelmed by the support given and am so pleased that this money can go to such a worthwhile cause,’ she added.

The money will be put towards an emergency resuscitation equipment trolley.
