AN APPEAL against a council’s decision to refuse a housing development has been lost.

Earlier this year East Hampshire District Council refused an application to build a detached home at the back of 43 Chalton Lane, Clanfield, including access, landscaping and parking.

The government’s planning inspector agreed the plans could have a negative impact.

A report states: ‘The size, layout and scale of the proposal would assert itself in an unsympathetic and visually intrusive manner.’
