CLOWNS, a bouncy castle, balloons and fitness craze Zumba were the order of the day at an event to launch a community fundraiser.

People of all ages gathered at Hayling College to join in the fun day, which launched The Southern Co-operative’s community support card scheme.

Over the coming year, the aim is to raise £30,000 through Hayling customers swiping a card every time they buy groceries.

Half of the £30,000 will go to Hayling United FC, while the other half will go to The Bridge Advice Centre.

Mandy Hawke, an adviser at The Bridge Advice Centre, said: ‘It’s a huge boost. There’s no money in debt advice and we are all volunteers.’
