THE Rotary Club of Cosham has teamed up with the city council in celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
Both marked the occasion by planting trees in a hedgerow on Portsdown Hill as a way of celebrating life.
The event on Wednesday was also attended by Portsdown Hill country life officer Richard Jones and students from the University of Portsmouth. The trees species planted were Hawthorn, Dogwood, Hazel Cherry and Rowan. They were obtained by the rotary club from the Woodland Trust under the ‘Free Trees For Your Community’ Scheme.
