STAFF at a Gosport company have reached a milestone in their campaign to raise £8,000 for charity.

Mobile communications firm Aerial Direct has collected more than £5,000 towards its goal to back Macmillan Cancer Support.

Staff have taken part in fundraisers such as doughnut and bake sales, a charity raffle and a beard shave as part of the effort.

A team of 31 employees from the company will also take part in Sunday’s Great South Run in Portsmouth for the fundraiser.

Macmillan fundraising manager Lisa Murphy said: ‘We are so grateful to the team for all the fantastic events they have put on to date.

‘I have been amazed at all the effort and donations they have achieved. The money raised by Aerial Direct will make a huge difference to people affected by cancer locally.

‘We want to ensure that no-one faces cancer alone by delivering more services for people including financial support through our benefits advisors and advisors on our support line.’
