A CHOIR is holding a fundraising concert.

St John’s College Chapel Choir will perform at St Columba’s Church in Elson Road, Gosport, on Saturday, June 27, to raise money for its next tour.

The choir has performed in Cathedrals throughout England including Westminster Abbey, St Paul’s Cathedral, Salisbury Cathedral, Winchester Cathedral, York Minster, and St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.

St John’s has toured extensively on the continent and in addition has appeared on BBC’s Songs of Praise three times, been interviewed on Radio Solent and supported many charity events in the area.

The choir consists of 24 choristers aged between eight and 14 with 18 choral students who sing alto, tenor and bass parts.

Concerts also include many pieces such as You Raise Me Up, All Through the Night, Bright Eyes, Jerusalem, Be Still, When I’m 64, Tears in Heaven and
You’ll Never Walk Alone, which they dedicate to the victims of the Hillsborough disaster.

The choir is entirely self-supporting and holds fund raising evenings at the school and in the community.

All the money raised from ticket sales will be going to support the boys on their next tour this summer when they will be singing in Poland and the Czech Republic.

Tickets are priced at £7 each and available from urcstcolumbas@gmail.com and 07702 730 318.
