Have your say

IF you think men are chefs only in summer when the barbecue is flaming, think again.

A new six-week course of community cookery skills classes is running this autumn at Winchester Fire Station in Winnall.

The programme is aimed at men over 55 and being run by Winchester City Council.

It aims to ‘pull the veil off any mystery’ surrounding cooking.

It will be taught how to cook a range of simple, great meals, from start to finish and will teach members the elements of food nutrition, health, shopping ideas and food storage.

The course costs £1 per session and all ingredients are provided .

Places for the next course must be booked in advance.

Anyone keen to join should contact Nicola Lawrence on 01962 848083 or email nlawrence@winchester.gov.uk.
