FIREFIGHTERS set up an exclusion zone in Portsmouth city centre after a suspected gas leak.

One engine from Gosport and one from Southsea are at Burnaby Road.

The low-pressure gas leak is believed to be coming from a University of Portsmouth building there.

Firefighters received the call at around 1.30pm, and ventilated the building and handed it over to Southern Gas Networks.

The exclusion zone was lifted shortly afterwards.
