THE Third Cosham Girl Guides group is celebrating after 11 members won prestigious awards.

The girls, who are all in the same year group, gave their all to achieve the Baden-Powell Challenge Award – the highest accolade for young Guides.

They tackled a range of themes and issues to achieve the award, including healthy lifestyles, global awareness, discovery and skills and relationships.

Lauren Clark, Alice Macpherson, Hollie Robertson, Jasmine Snook, Maddie Stoneman, Sian Lewis, Mollie Donnelly, Scarlett Harvey-Whitten, Charlotte Saunders, Katherine Lemieux and Lou Lou Plane received their certificates at a presentation at St Church Hall, St Colman’s Avenue.

Guide leader Carole McColl said: ‘They are all typical teenage girls – they have their ups and downs but they are good citizens.

‘They are girls that want to achieve things and go on and do things.

‘They have done very well and they are willing to help anyone.’
