Pensioner has purse snatched while shopping in Cosham charity shop

Have your say

THE congregation of St George’s Church in Waterlooville has spent months collecting goods for a two-week fundraising sale to pay for maintenance on the church tower.

But members have been left devastated after being told the shop they were set to use for the sale, starting on Saturday, is no longer available.

With just two days to go parishioners are desperately trying to find a venue close to the church, and are looking for a good samaritan to help them out.

Organiser Jane Oxley-Rice, said: ‘Over the last six months St George’s parishioners have been saving up their items for the sale.

‘They now have garage-loads of lovely things for sale and there is nowhere in Waterlooville to trade from.

‘People have signed up to help either in the shop or with a trailer and a strong arm and everyone is raring to go.

‘All we need now is a venue.

‘We would be so grateful if someone could help us out.’
