Council assures new bus passes on the way

CONCESSIONARY bus pass holders will be sent new passes when they expire, a council has said.

The current passes used by residents of Gosport and Havant expire on March 31 and Hampshire County Council said it will automatically send new ones.

Transport boss, Cllr Mel Kendal, said: ‘I would ask people not to worry if they have not yet received their new pass.

‘We have thousands to issue and every effort is being made to make sure they arrive before the end of March.

‘We would also appreciate being notified if, sadly, a family member has passed away since receiving their previous bus pass so that we can avoid causing any offence or distress to the next of kin.’

What a waste of money being spent on administration. Why not issue a no end-date pass?
