A FITNESS instructor from Gosport has been named as a finalist in the Lifetime Learner Achievement Awards.

Ellie Woollam, 24, has been nominated for the award, which will be announced at the Tower of London tomorrow.

Mrs Woollam suffers from dyslexia, but runs a team of 10 fitness instructors and 18 exercise trainers at the Gosport Leisure Centre.

Mrs Woollam did an apprenticeship through training provider Lifetime, which runs the awards for its graduates.

She said the nomination had capped off an enjoyable start to her career.

Mrs Woollam said: ‘Leaving school with five A-C grades, I made my way up the ladder.

‘I took up roles such as coaching, exercise classes, and then becoming fitness service manager.

‘In 2012, having had the summer of my life at the London Olympics, I moved to the new Gosport Leisure Centre, taking on the position of assistant fitness manager and group exercise co-ordinator.’
