HOT on the heels of The Rowans’ Big Bed Push will be a big cricket match.

Fuller’s Brewery will take on The Bat and Ball Cricket Club at The Bat and Ball pub in Clanfield to raise money for Dorothy’s Dream.

There will be an old fashioned feel to the event, on July 28, with a fete where attractions will include welly boot throwing, a coconut shy, face painting, a tombola, Morris Dancing, a marching band, cream teas and a hog roast. There will also be a raffle with fantastic prizes.

Organiser Richard Gale, whose wife, Elizabeth, is the chairwoman of trustees at The Rowans, said: ‘This was an event I felt we could do to help raise more money for Dorothy’s Dream.

‘Everyone has entered into it full of enthusiasm, particularly the landlord and landlady of the Bat and Ball and Fuller’s Brewery.’

Gates open at midday and the cricket starts at 1pm.
