Crash shuts busy Gosport road

On the evening of October 23,1970 two tankers collided six miles south of the Isle of Wight. 13 crewmen died.

A two-vehicle collision led to a major Gosport road being closed.

The incident, which involved a black Skoda and a black Volkswagen, happened on the A32 Fareham Road just after 8.15pm tonight.

The road was closed in both directions and three people have reportedly been taken to hospital.

Fire crews from Gosport, as well as police and ambulance, were on the scene.
