FIREFIGHTERS have returned to a scrubland which was ravaged by a massive fire.

One crew from Gosport were called to the Browndown Ranges, in Gosport, at 2pm, and then again at 4pm, yesterday.

Passers-by twice noticed smouldering from the land, which is made up of peat.

Firefighters used hose reels to put the small fires out.

As previously reported, a fire broke out at 7.45pm last Thursday and took hold across an acre.

No one was injured.
