Rings worth almost £16,000 have been stolen from a Waterlooville jewellery shop.

Raiders broke in through the roof of The Gold Shop in The Precinct last night.

A tray of 50 women’s rings with various stones were taken, along with eight nine carat gold bangles and 15 other rings in small black boxes.

Police said the estimated value of the stolen jewellery is almost £16,500.

PC Stuart Hurst said: ‘We are appealing to anyone who may be able to help us identify who was responsible to come forward.

‘Have you been offered jewellery for sale in suspicious circumstances? Did you notice any suspicious activity in the precinct around the time of the incident?’
