TWO 16-year-old boys were arrested after a stolen car crashed on the seafront.

The sound of the Saab convertible skidding, then hitting a lamppost close to Eastney Swimming Pool, woke residents at 3am yesterday.

Police were called and they arrived to find the vehicle damaged and abandoned opposite Driftwood Gardens.

The boys were arrested in connection with the crash a short time later.

Police arranged for the vehicle to be towed away.
