AN 82-YEAR-OLD man was caught behind the wheel while twice the drink-drive limit.

John Knight, of Derwent Close, Waterlooville, admitted committing the offence in the same street on September 28.

A test revealed his breath contained 98 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres - twice the legal limit of 35mcg.

He was fined £500 and banned from driving for four years and four months.

Derwent was ordered to pay a £50 to a fund for victims of crime by Portsmouth magistrates.

He must also pay £85 in court costs.
