PREPARE for some diabolical literary action when two crime writers launch their new novels.

Will Sutton, a writer, musician and latin teacher from Southsea, has joined up with Diana Bretherick, a former criminal barrister and a lecturer in criminology and criminal law at Portsmouth University, for the event next week.

Will’s Lawless and the Devil of Euston Square is a Victorian mystery involving betrayal, exploitation and collusion – with lots of wit.

Diana’s City of Devils is a thriller set in 19th-century Turin. It focuses on a young Scottish doctor fascinated by the workings of the criminal mind.

Both books have received excellent reviews.

The launch is on Wednesday at Blackwell’s Bookshop, Cambridge Road, close to the University of Portsmouth’s Student Union.

It begins at 4.30pm and is open to the public.

The authors will be reading and signing copies of their books.
