Appeal after men caught trying to break into Fareham home

THREE men were caught trying to break into a house while the owners were away on holiday.

Police are seeking witnesses after the attempted burglary, which happened on Sunday in Harcourt Road, Fareham.

Between 7.30pm and 7.50pm, the trio were spotted trying to force their way into the house.

They then fled across a field at the back of the property after being disturbed. Nothing was stolen.

Detective Constable Wes Arnold, of Fareham and Gosport CID, said: ‘I am appealing for anyone who may have seen men matching these descriptions in the areas near Ranvilles Lane, Titchfield Road, or Rowan Way, shortly after this occurred, to get in touch with me.

‘I would also advise anyone going on holiday to get a family member of neighbour to check on their property from time to time.’

The first suspect was a white man, in his 30s, who was about 6ft 2in. He was very thin and had receding, light-coloured hair.

The second suspect was white and in his late teens, with a medium build and cropped hair.

The third man was white, in his 20s, about 6ft 2in, with short hair and was also very thin. Anyone with information should call 101.
