Man suffers head wound after being hit with a glass in Southsea

POLICE are growing increasingly concerned for a 66-year-old man who has been reported missing from his home in Portsmouth.

James David Barrett, known as David, who is diabetic and has dementia, was last seen leaving his home in Simpson Road, Stamshaw, at about 5.15pm on Friday (August 7).

He is known to visit the areas of Chichester and Portsdown Hill and has previous connections with Portsmouth University.

He is described as:

White man

Five feet eight inches tall

Very slim build

Short, grey hair

Beard

He was wearing a dark-coloured jumper, with a shirt underneath, black jeans and ‘Dr Marten’s’ boots.

Inspector Chris Spellerberg said: ‘We are very concerned about this man’s welfare and we’d like to hear from anyone who may have seen him. David takes medication daily, which he doesn’t have with him.’
