James David Barrett, known as David, who is diabetic and has dementia, was last seen leaving his home in Simpson Road, Stamshaw, at about 5.15pm on Friday (August 7).
He is known to visit the areas of Chichester and Portsdown Hill and has previous connections with Portsmouth University.
He is described as:
Five feet eight inches tall
Very slim build
Short, grey hair
He was wearing a dark-coloured jumper, with a shirt underneath, black jeans and ‘Dr Marten’s’ boots.
Inspector Chris Spellerberg said: ‘We are very concerned about this man’s welfare and we’d like to hear from anyone who may have seen him. David takes medication daily, which he doesn’t have with him.’
