A MAN has been arrested after a woman in her 80s was left with a broken eye socket in a burglary.

The woman also suffered cuts and bruises when she was assaulted at home in Havant, on Friday.

The burglar had broken into her home at 3.30am.

A 43-year-old man was arrested on Sunday and was bailed for medical treatment.

Hampshire police said officers expect to question the man in the next few days.
