A MAN has been arrested in connection with an attack on a teenager last Wednesday.

A 21-year-old is currently in custody and being questioned about the attack which took place in the car park of Parry Court in Parham Road, Gosport, after being arrested by police.

The 19-year-old victim was left needing hospital treatment as a result of the assault, but his injuries were not as bad as initially feared.

The attack took place at about 8.20pm.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesman said: ‘Police investigating an assault on a 19-year-old man in Parham Road, Gosport on Wednesday, August 28, have made an arrest.

‘A 21-year-old man from Gosport was arrested in the Mumby Road area at 12.40pm on Monday on suspicion of robbery.

‘He has been taken into police custody for questioning.’

He added that the police believe there is no ongoing danger to the wider community.
