FIREFIGHTERS were called to a community centre after someone started a fire on purpose.

Crews went to Fratton Community Centre, in Trafalgar Place, at about 3.35pm yesterday.

A bin at the back of the centre had been set on fire.

A crew from Southsea used hoses to put out the blaze. Firefighters were later called out just before 5pm to put out a chimney fire in Peterborough Road, Wymering.
